Team - AL-Qouz, Mahfouz

Abdullah AL-Qouz (lead translator) is currently pursuing a Bachelors of Arts degree at the American University of Kuwait, double-majoring in English Language & Literature and Communication & Media. His main area of research interest is the distinction of language varieties, globally and locally, and how language usage affects cultures based on the origins of the language and its later development(s). AL-Qouz is interested in romance languages as well, and holds an intermediate French language certificate (DELF B1). 

Inas Y. Mahfouz (editor) is an Assistant Professor of English at the American University of Kuwait. She is the creator of a process-type database for transitivity analysis, an ontology of food terms in the Holy Quran, and the Arab Learner English Corpus (ALEC), and has authored publications on automatic discourse analysis, corpus linguistics and systemic functional grammar. Her research interests include corpus linguistics, critical reading and writing, rhetorical studies, and translation.
